Description:
A powerful, intensely flavored Lodi Cabernet with concentrated blackberry, blueberry, boysenberry and black cherry, layered with dark chocolate, espresso, black licorice, vanilla, nutmeg, baking spice and toasted oak. Earthquake is deliberately made in a big, rich style, with substantial dark fruit, a full-bodied texture and a long oak-driven finish.
Pairing Recommendation:
Excellent with Prime Ribeye, smoked brisket, beef short ribs, NY Strip, Wagyu burgers and hearty aged cheeses. Wine Enthusiast specifically recommends smoked meats and hearty cheeses with the 2022. For Midtown Provisions, smoked brisket or Prime Ribeye would be excellent—the richness can stand up to this wine’s concentrated fruit and higher alcohol.
Serve: 60–65°F. I’d give this one 45–60 minutes in a decanter, particularly with younger vintages.
