Description:
A highly rated, sophisticated Red Mountain Cabernet from Canvasback, part of the Duckhorn Portfolio. The 2018 vintage delivers layers of ripe strawberry, Bing cherry, blueberry and huckleberry, developing into darker flavors of black plum and cocoa, with accents of baking spice, almond and hazelnut. Twenty months of aging in French oak adds richness and polish, while the wine retains the firm structure and concentrated fruit characteristic of Red Mountain Cabernet.
Pairing Recommendation:
Excellent with Prime Ribeye, NY Strip, beef tenderloin, braised short ribs, rack of lamb or aged cheeses. For Midtown Provisions, I’d pair this with a Prime Ribeye—the wine has the fruit concentration, tannin and structure to handle a richly marbled steak.
Serve: Around 60–65°F. At this age, I’d open it 30–45 minutes before serving, taste it, and give it additional air if needed.
