Interesting Facts:
Pinot Blanc is a natural color mutation of Pinot Gris, which itself is a mutation of Pinot Noir. Despite their dramatically different appearances and wine styles, all three belong to the same Pinot family.
In Austria, Pinot Blanc is called Weißburgunder. Austria's cool growing conditions allow the grape to retain its naturally refreshing acidity while developing flavors of orchard fruit, citrus and subtle mineral character.
Pinot Blanc is sometimes overshadowed by Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio, but it can be an exceptionally versatile food wine because its subtle fruit and refreshing acidity complement food rather than overpower it.
Serve: 46–50°F. No decanting necessary. Avoid serving it extremely cold; allowing it to warm slightly in the glass helps reveal its fruit and aromatics.
