Dark amber in color, you can expect notes of caramel, butterscotch with a finish of vanilla and a hint of richness courtesy of the Cabernet Sauvignon French Oak casks.
Ammunition is the shared vision of two guys who had a dream of making wine and after some not-so-careful consideration, they pooled some money together and made it happen. Andy was born and raised in Sonoma County where he started working harvests and interning to get a "cellar degree". Meanwhile, Bill was working on brand innovation for a few other wineries when a mutual friend introduced them. They hit it off right away and never looked back. There are many decisions that go into making truly premium wines, from where the grapes are grown, when they are harvested, to how our juice is fermented, aged and ultimately blended. As in many businesses there are many opportunities along the way to take the easy way out, or to cut corners in order to save a buck. For the Ammunition winemaking team, these simply aren’t options. In our mind, a penny saved may be a penny earned, but a pile of pennies isn’t going to produce a wine we are proud to share.
